support

On December 12, 2023,* the WGC bargaining committee returned to negotiations with the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA).

In a show of support for the WGC members representing them at the table, Canadian live-action showrunners and animation executive story editors wrote an open letter, which over 100 of their peers have signed.

The WGC also received an outpouring of solidarity from other guilds and unions, including the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA), the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC), the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), and NABET (National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians) 700-M UNIFOR

We're grateful for the support.

* UPDATE - JANUARY 3, 2024: Mediation between the CMPA and the WGC is ongoing. At the request of the mediator, no further comment will be made about the mediation process or the substance of bargaining pending completion of mediation which will reconvene on January 25 and 26, 2024.
